About Us

The Blunn Creek Partnership grew out of efforts in 2005 to address a range of concerns facing the creek and its watershed, particularly Stacy Park and Blunn Creek Nature Preserve. The problems included flooding, erosion, and invasive plants, as well as challenges with maintaining trails, bridges, playgrounds, tennis courts, swimming pool and other equipment in the parks. We have been lucky though to have hundreds of volunteers, agency and non-profit partners helping out, and look forward to continued headway making good places for fun, exercise, and habitat.

In conjunction with the City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Partnership has been fortunate to draw together funds and volunteers to address these issues. The Partnership has relied on such groups as the Austin Parks Foundation, Keep Austin Beautiful, United Way, Master Naturalists and a wide variety of grade schools, local colleges, professional associations, and trade groups. We would like to take this chance to thank all those who have contributed thousands of hours and dollars to make the Blunn basin a better place for the neighbors, visitors, and the wildlife that calls it home.
